Ajax Winterfest on Monday, February 15, 2016

Join me at the Audley Community Centre in Ajax for Winterfest on Monday, February 15 from 11:00 – 4:00. The Ajax public library will be launching their Story Book Walk program at the event. We'll walk along the trail and read Over at the Rink together. The trail will lead us back to the community centre where there will plenty of activities for everyone.

The Story Book Walk program is part of Ontario’s Healthy Kids Community Challenge and aims to combine physical activity and literacy in an engaging way. I'm honoured that they selected Over at the Rink as their launching story.

Neighbourhood Fun Day, Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Elvin Johnson Park, Halls Lake

Neighbourhood Fun Day is on Saturday, July 25th this year. Come by Elvin Johnson Park to celebrate the best of cottage life between 11:00 am - 3:00 pm.

I will be reading from There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Puck and previewing Five Busy Beavers throughout the day and there are many other kids' crafts & activities.

There will be information sessions & booths for gardeners, anglers & boaters, arts & handicrafts sale – even musical performances from local talent! 

Authors for Indies Day - Blue Heron Books

May 2nd is Canada's first ever Authors for Indies Day. Over 600 authors will be visiting their favourite local book stores to talk about the books that inspire us. Come by Blue Heron Books in Uxbridge to meet some local authors. I'll be there from 11:00 - 2:00. Other authors include:

Creemore Winter Classic Weekend, Saturday, February 21, 2015

Curiosity House Books has some great family fun events lined up for the inaugural Creemore Winter Classic Weekend. I'll be at the bookstore at 11:00 to read from Over at the Rink: A Hockey Counting Book. Carolyn J. Morris has some great crafts for everyone to make. Stephen Smith, author of Puckstruck, will also be in Creemore all weekend to talk about hockey culture. So put on your favourite hockey jersey and join us.

Hey West-enders, I'll be visiting the Chapters at Sherway Gardens on October 25th between 1:00 - 3:00 to help them launch the fall with their annual open house. I'll be reading from 101 Creepy Canadian JokesOver at the Rink and There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Puck. Come by and meet some authors, hear some stories and find some fun books.

Word on the Street on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Queen's Park Circle

There's lots to see and do at this year's Word on the Street, which will be held on Sunday, September 21st. University Avenue will be closed off between Bloor and Queen's Park and the streets will be overrun with bibliophiles of all ages. 

I'll be reading There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Puck at the TD Children's Literature Tent from 12:50 - 1:10 and there will be a book signing afterwards. I can't wait to meet everyone.

Community Author Visit, Thursday, January 30, 2014 at McLean Public Library

A big thank you to Raj Ameerally and the the teacher-librarians from St. Jude's C.S. and Applecroft P.S. for coordinating this author visit. I had a wonderful time meeting Grade 1 to 3 students from both schools. I was happy to share a sneak peak of my upcoming book, There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Puck.
