Family Literacy Day, Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Ontario Early Years Centre

This year marks the 15th anniversary of Family Literacy Day, a nation-wide initiative created by ABC Life Literacy. In honour of this milestone, this year’s theme is 15 Minutes of Fun!

The Ontario Early Years Centre (OEYC) at the Ajax Community Centre is hosting an event from 9:30-11:30 am on Friday, January 25th and have put together an engaging program of activities for families with children aged 0 to 6 years.

As part of the celebration I will be reading from my two books, 101 Creepy Canadian Jokes illustrated by Bill Dickson and Over at the Rink: A Hockey Counting Book illustrated by Scot Ritchie (both published by Scholastic Canada).

For some great ideas on how to have 15 Minutes of Fun for Family Literacy Day, visit www.FamilyLiteracyDay.ca.

For more information on the day’s events please contact Angelika Watson at oeyc.ajax@ymcagta.org.

Word on the Street, Sunday September 23, 2012 at Queen's Park Circle

Over at the Children's Tent at Word on the Street,
Was a children's book author and the kids she came to meet.
"Read," said the author.
"We'll read!" said the kids.
So they read, and they laughed at Word on the Street.

Join me at Word on the Street on Sunday, September 23rd at 5:00 pm at the Children's Tent as we read from Over at the Rink: A Hockey Counting Book. Who will you meet over at the rink?
